Absolutely hit or miss. First time i ate here, it was some of the best food I'd ever had and it was busy..people waiting to get in, food took about 30 minutes to receive. Second time was awful.. it was pretty terrible food and there was literally two people sitting inside eating and I had spent 10 minutes trying to call and place order but I guess two people is just too busy to answer the phone.. took over an hour for two burgers and a fries literally the EXACT thing I ordered the first time but this time business was slow slow slow and food sucked and service sucked and took twice as long.. you'd think it would be the other way around.

The veggie burger was good, it wasn't a frozen veggies patty which was nice. My husband had the brisket sandwich and wasn't super impressed with it. The pimento cheese fries were delicious. The place is cute and has that small town feeling.

My husband and I stopped in for dinner and had completely different experiences with our food. I chose the “create your own” option and had a grilled chicken sandwich with grilled pineapple and swiss. It was delicious! As my side I had sweet potato fries which were very good. My husband had the brisket platter with baked beans and ff. The beans were really good with a different flavor than we’ve ever had. Like a tomato flavor almost. The brisket was NOT brisket. You can tell by the picture it was roast beef. It smelled like roast beef, tasted like roast beef and fell apart like roast beef. My husband is not a self proclaimed brisket expert, but he’s had enough to know what brisket tastes like, and I’ll say it again, this was not brisket. It was just weird to serve something telling a customer it’s something it’s not. I will say the service is excellent, but unfortunately after being basically lied to about the food, we won’t be back.

We've been to Stackhouse many times. The food is great sometimes and poor other times. Service is ALWAYS SLOW but is almost always friendly. The atmosphere is strange, as there is often no music playing, so it feels like eating in a cafeteria. No beer either...I think they lost their license at some point for something. It is worth trying, just don't go in w/ great expectations.
